Late on Saturday night, amid Donald Trump's ongoing feud with Gold Star parents Khizr and Ghazala Khan, the New York Post, which endorsed Trump in April, published several nude photographs of the candidate's wife. "THE OGLE OFFICE," the Post's Sunday edition punned.
The pictures were taken in Manhattan in 1995 by a French ex-con named Alé de Basseville, shortly after Melania Knauss arrived in America.
They appeared in the January 1996 issue of Max, a now-defunct French men's magazine, and the Trump campaign has made a very big show of being unbothered by the photographs' publication.
Donald Trump stated in a conversation with the Post: "Melania was one of the most successful models and she did many photo shoots, including for covers and major magazines. This was a picture taken for a European magazine prior to my knowing Melania. In Europe, pictures like this are very fashionable and common."
Jason Miller, the spokesperson of Donal Trump also added: "They're a celebration of the human body as art. There's nothing to be embarrassed about. She is a beautiful woman."
The question here is why are these photos just coming out now, even though these were taken back in 1995. The answer to that may possibly be caused by the need of the New York Post to sell newspapers, or to raise the profile of de Basse-Ville.
The other possible reason as to the happening of the incident may also be a cause of the strategy of diversion done by the Trump campaign.
Donald Trump may be aware of the potential leaks, and that they could even possibly tell Jarl Alexandre to publicize the photos to the New York Post to serve as a distraction point away from the issues that Trump have with the Khans.
