The 2010-2016 Aston Martin DBS and the Vanquish models are being recalled owing to a glitch detected on the battery cable. In line with that, notions of the company's ability to render quality are being challenged by the current crisis found on the car models.
Given the prominence of the Aston Martin and the elegant legacy that it has shown to the world, the decision to recall weighed heavily on the carmaker and its business operations. All the same, the commitment to excellence and safety is among the main priorities of the company. Car Advice reports, "Aston Martin has issued a recall for a number of vehicles in its DBS and Vanquish lines, over fears a battery cable may be damaged by the seat runners, recalling cars built between 16 September 2010 and 17 February 2016."
The anomaly that was detected was in the driver's seat. It appears that the battery supply cable is compressed by the seat runner, leading to increasing temperature and eventually into overheat. If the battery cable is continuously compressed, the insulation on the cable may become damaged. This may cause short circuit between the cable and the runner, a potential source of fire, added the report.
In terms of elegance, sophistication, brute engine force and beauty combined, the Aston Martin stands out from the rest. Also, Aston Martin has more plans in store for its premium cars and even affirmed the release of 2 limited run vehicles to market, similar to the Vantage-based GT12 and the track-only Vulcan, according to a report from Auto Guide.
On a different note, the affected 2010-2016 Aston Martin DBS and Vanquish models being recalled owing to battery cable flaw have the identification values within the VIN range of SCFXXXXXXX02484 and SCFXXXXXXX02757, and for those that owned the Aston Martin series with these serials are advice by the company to visit the nearest dealer or seller to prevent accidents and crisis from happening.
