Ever after the death of an actress for thirty years, her most favorite car is still receiving much fanfare and accolades in Hollywood.
Big-screen icon Natalie Wood was once crowned the Queen of Hollywood and now, her once favorite vintage Mercedes Roadster is up for sale in July. As part of the Hollywood memorabilia, the auctioneers have made a public announcement that the Mercedes Roadster Coupe automatic driven by Wood in 1967 will be a part of the auction.
According to auctioneers, the Mercedes Roadster Coupe was purchased in 1967 in Santa Monica, California. It was upholstered in black vinyl and has been kept in good maintenance to a near perfect condition. The car 106,000 miles on it, which auctioneers believe will push the car's value between $30,000 to $50,000.
The Mercedes Roadster Coupe will come with some of the advanced and latest features during its time in 1967. The model has ZF four-speed automatic transmission with floor shift, power steering, air conditioning, removable hard top and a hidden soft top. The car also has copies of Natalie Wood's 1968 California Registration and window sticker. It also comes with four-wheel disc brakes, all independent suspension, a 2.5 litre sohc, mechanically fuel injected and a six cylinder engine.
Wood was Hollywood's most desired actress during the 1960s and starred in blockbuster movies such as "West Side Story," "Miracle on 34th Street" and "Without A Cause." The actress died at the age of 43 when she drowned off the California coast in 1981.
