Fans of fast cars and fast rides in Europe will be happy to hear about Ferrari looking to build a theme park that puts the two together.
The Italian luxury sports car maker plans to build the 196,850 square-foot park, called Ferrari Land, in PortAventura near Barcelona in order to cater to European visitors, according to CarBuzz.
Among the new attractions at the park will be the "Accelerator," which will be the tallest and fastest roller coaster in Europe, Behind The Thrills noted. The ride will come with a loading platform designed after an F1 Pit Stop, and the coaster cars will look like Ferrari F1 Racing cars. The coaster will propel guests up 367 feet at speeds of up to 111 mph.
Other features of Ferrari Land will include launch towers that will shoot riders 188 feet in the air, a racetrack with cars that look like little Ferraris, and simulators that will provide the speeds of the cars without the guests having to be on the track.
Ferrari will also give the park iconic buildings like Venice's Piazza San Marco, Rome's Colosseum and Milan's La Scala, Behind The Thrills reported. Guests will also be treated with shopping and dining options, along with Ferrari merchandise.
Ferrari Land will be similar to the Ferrari World theme park located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The plan for Ferrari is to complete construction for the new park by late 2016, and the automaker has set the date for the grand opening for early 2017.
