Mercedes-Benz is paying homage to the highly-acclaimed "Back to the Future" series by releasing video clips of the F 015 "Luxury in Motion" driverless concept car on the 30th anniversary of the franchise's first film, reported Car Scoops Magazine.
The luxury automaker released three short clips of the "Back to the Future"-inspired videos on Mercedes-Benz TV with the caption, "The F 015 Luxury in Motion spot Reveal. Happy Back to the Future Day."
"Thanks for inspiring our engineers, Doc. Happy Back to the Future Day," the German automaker captioined in the second video. Watch the futuristic clip below.
"We believe the future of driving means giving the customer the option to not have to drive at all," Mercedes-Benz said on their website. The third commercial of the self-driving F 015, entitled "Dogwalker," can be seen below.
The 17-second videos are brief, elegant statements of gratitude to Doc Brown for inspiring the futuristic self-driving concept car.
The F 015 debuted earlier this year at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The dynamic vehicle is intended to look like future cars in 2030, Fortune reported. While Mercedes-Benz has yet to set a release date for the luxury concept car, fans can preview the streamlined futuristic sedan in short films online.
