BMW has revealed its latest M performance crossover model X4 M40i ahead of its official world debut because of photo leaks, reported AutoBlog.
The early launch gives drivers access to photos of the Bavarian automaker's "crossover coupe," which is competing with the Audi SQ5 and the upcoming Mercedes Benz GLC450 AMG, according to Car and Driver. Consumers can look forward to better brakes, more power and sporty suspension tuning.
The X4 M40i sporty crossover has a 3.0 liter turbocharged inline six, which is an upgraded version of the X4 35i's N55 inline six. This upgrade can produce 55 hp and go from zero to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds, reaching a top speed of 130 mph.
BMW has not released a price for its new performance crossover. Those interested in how to tell the M40i model from the other X4s will note metal accents on the M performance model, 19-inch wheels and a variable sport exhaust. New interior features include sports seats, specific badging and a unique steering wheel.
The X4 M40i will make its first appearance at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November, according to the BMW Blog.
