Earlier this year, Cadillac surprised the world with a TV commercial shot and produced on the streets of New York, presumably out of the public eye. The CT6, Cadillac's upcoming sedan, remained a well-kept secret until the commercial was unveiled.
This time around, however, the producers weren't as successful at keeping the project under wraps.
A casual onlooker spotted what is believed to be the Cadillac XT5 sport-utility vehicle sitting in Manhattan as part of a film shoot. This is the first time that the XT5 has been seen without camouflage, and we do like what we see. Taking cues from the ATS, CTS, and CT6, the XT5 maintains the shape of the SRX crossover that it will replace, softening the edges and raising the belt line.
Just goes to show that, even in the hustle and bustle of New York City life, it pays off to keep an eye out for something unusual on the street. It just might be a never-before-seen prototype.
