Alfa Romeo uncovered its new Giulia sports sedan Wednesday in Milan as part of its quest to garner the same respect as BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz.

Engineers with experience from the Ferrari brand have designed the aluminum, six-cylinder turbo petrol. The Giulia pumps out 510 horsepower with an acceleration of 0 to 60 mph in a ridiculous 3.9 seconds, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Hosting a turbocharged V6 engine, the car's power is responsible for its excellent acceleration. In fact, the Giulia's acceleration rate of 0-60 in 3.9 seconds matches that of the BMW M3, although the M3 has less horsepower, according to the Business Insider.

The Alfa Romeo logo displays a snake on the right and a red cross on top of a white background on the left. This happens to be the coat of arms of the Visconti family, while the cross over the white background represents the flag of Milan, the Detroit Free Press reported. In the early 1900s, victories on the racing circuit created a strong tradition for the brand. However, during the 60s and 80s, the company had a lapse in strategy and made some wrong choices in sales.

No news has been reported about when the Giulia will arrive in America, according to Auto Mobile Mag. However, the sedan is expected to come overseas at some point in 2016.
