A 2005 Hummer that once belonged to former NFL star and convicted murder Aaron Hernandez was found up for sale this week at a used car dealership in Massachusetts.
A Hummer H2 Luxury was found for sale at Central Motor Sales for $30,900 by WFXT-TV earlier this week. The station was able to trace the vehicle back to Hernandez by using the VIN number and court documents.
Hernandez was convicted in April of killing Odin Lloyd back in 2013. Lloyd's mother is currently suing the former New England Patriot and her lawyers have been looking for his assets.
When Hernandez was arrested two years ago he had a $40 million deal with the Patriots, according to the Associated Press.
Hernandez supposedly purchased the car back in May 2013, just a month before the incident took place at an industrial park in North Attleborough. The ride was seized by police later that year as part of their investigation into the murder and investigators found a .45 Glock magazine inside.
The Hummer was later returned to Hernandez after a judge didn't allow it to be used as evidence in the murder trial.
On Thursday, the vehicle with just 36,000 miles on it was listed as available for purchase on the dealership's website but the vehicle was "no longer for sale" as of Friday night, according to WFXT-TV.
A lawyer for Lloyd's mother, Douglas Sheff, said on Friday that he's now worried that there is someone moving around Hernandez's assets while he's behind bars.
"What that says is that somebody outside of the jailhouse is acting on Mr. Hernandez's behalf," Sheff said according to WPRI.com. "Now if they're acting on his behalf in respect to a $30,000 Hummer, maybe they're acting on his behalf in respect to millions of dollars of assets - and that's what we're interested in."
Hernandez still faces two counts of murder in Boston for another incident where he is accused of shooting two men after a nightclub incident in 2012.
