Marvel Studios and Audi are teaming up once again for the highly-anticipated film "Avengers: Age of Ultron," set to be released this May.
Movie goers can expect to see the Audi R8, Audi TTS and Audi A3 Cabriolet featured in the film alongside familiar heroes like Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and The Incredible Hulk, according to an Audi release.
Audi and Marvel have a lot of history together, as the original R8 helped out Tony Stark in the first "Iron Man" movie back in 2008. The automaker also provided vehicles like the A8L, Q7 and S7 Sportback for the "Iron Man" franchise as well.
"After eight years of successful partnerships with Marvel, Audi aligns with the evolving narrative of the Tony Stark character to showcase the all-new, re-designed 2016 R8," said Loren Angelo, Director of Marketing, Audi of America, according to the release. "Having been part of the character's storyline for the past three Iron Man films, it is a perfect fit for Audi to return in Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron with Tony Stark driving the iconic supercar in its next generation."
As if that wasn't enough, Audi is creating a short video with Marvel comic book legend Stan Lee that will be released on Audi's YouTube channel closer to the release of the movie. Anything that man makes is pure genius so we have high hopes for the video.
The exclusive video will also be featured on Audi's "Avengers: Age of Ultron" website to get Audi and Marvel fans alike pumped up for new movie. The site features information about the movie and cars that are expected to make cameos in the film
"The character Tony Stark continues to evolve and represent a truly modern renaissance man - an industrialist, engineer and leader in his new work," said Giovanni Perosino, Audi AG head of marketing communication, in a company statement. "It's this type of innovator that carefully selects their cars and is exactly who would be driving the next-generation Audi R8."
Will the partnership between Audi and Marvel help the new R8 take down its own rivals like the Aston Martin DB9 and Porsche 911? We'll have to wait and see.
"Avengers: Age of Ultron" hits theaters on May 1, 2015, according to IMDB. The movie stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, and many more.
