Volvo Enters Copenhagen

Volvo will open a new development office which specializes in HMI (Human Machine Interface) in Copenhagen. The specialization in HMI indicates that making technology more user-friendly is a highly prioritized development area for the company.

Following Nokia’s recent restructure in Copenhagen, Volvo seized the opportunity to hire technical staff with spearhead competence and experience in the field of HMI development. HMI has long been a prioritized are in the development of mobile phones and with Volvo’s new “Designed Around You” brand strategy will be a prime focal area within the company.

Volvo officially states that “We have very high ambitions for HMI. This is one of the areas in which we intend to expand most and have the best offering on the market. The establishment of our development office in Copenhagen is an excellent step to help us reach our objective.” The new office will add exciting new dimensions to the operation.

Nikolaj Nohr Rasmussen, manager of the newly established Copenhagen office, says “Our aim is to hire about 20 HMI specialists. So far we have recruited about 10 and more are on their way.” The Copenhagen region is a dynamic development hub in the area of mobility, permitting close cooperation with leading university research faculties as well as global and local companies.
