Among the first vehicles to debut in Detroit this auto show season is the Infiniti Q60 Concept, an elegant interpretation of the brand's design language shown as a concept preceding an eventual addition to the lineup.
What is it?
The Q60 Concept does its best imitation of a scaled-down version of the Q80 Inspiration concept car that was previewed at last year's Paris auto show. It serves as a potential, two-door complement to the techy Q50 sedan, but looks far more elegant, inside and out. A long, wide stance gives the Q60 Concept presence from all angles, while the sumptuous interior features leather with diamond stitching and a full array of technology features. Although Infiniti bills this model as a concept car, it looks nearly close to production-ready.
What's new?
Aside from being an entirely new model—replacing the current Q60 coupe, the G37 coupe in a former life—the Q60 Concept features bespoke elements not seen in other Infinitis yet. Under the hood is a 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V-6, originally shown in the Q80 Inspiration, which is confirmed for production in future models.
Most fascinating feature?
The Q60 Concept is painted in a shade that Infiniti calls "Arctic Aluminum," which has all the sheen and gleam of chrome. It's rather fascinating execution, up close.
Can I buy it?
Not yet. The Q60 Concept is just that, although we expect a version to hit showrooms in the near future.
