Aston Martin Works is celebrating 60 years at Newport Pagnell with six new limited edition takes on the Aston Martin Vanquish sport car.
The first vehicle was revealed by the automaker at Buckinghamshire-based firm's customer Christmas celebration, which also forms the start of 12 months of anniversary activity at Aston Martin Works. The vehicle represents the most recent decade (2005 to 2015) and its knob bezels come from pistons that once helped an original Vanquish.
The six vehicles, all variations of the current Vanquish super GT, are available in Coupe of Volante, and are being created in association with the luxury British brand's Gaydon-based design team, and Q by Aston Martin.
"This project has been a harmonious co-operation across the whole business, developed uniquely to celebrate 60 years of Aston Martin Works at Newport Pagnell," said Aston Martin Works Commercial Director, Paul Spires in a company press statement. "I'm thrilled to be unveiling the first of these cars at our Christmas celebration, and look forward to seeing the remaining models being built and delivered to customers throughout the course of our anniversary year in 2015."
The other five vehicles will be equipped with by pistons from a V8 Vantage supercharged, a V8 Vantage X-pack, a V8 Coupe, a DB5 and a DB 2/4 Mk II saloon. One of the bezels in each Vanquish will be inscribed with the relevant model, the other bezels will recognized as 60th anniversary models, according to the automaker.
A few elements distinguish the Anniversary vehicles like the paint color treatments and trim. The most emotive part of each vehicle comes in the form of bespoke rotaries around the major controls in each center console.
Each rotary has been cast from metal that had formed a piston in an Aston Martin engine during the time period being celebrated. The rotaries are then laser etched with Works' Anniversary wording.
Vehicles retain standard technical features of the Vanquish super GT like its 6.0-litre V12 petrol engine mated in a pioneering transaxle layout to the latest generation Touchtronic III eight-speed automatic gearbox. This lets the Vanquish spirit from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 200 mph.
Prices for the six cars are available on application at Aston Martin Works.
