Just in time for the holiday gift season, Chevrolet has unwrapped its next gift to the green car community, presenting the first image of the front end of the 2016 Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid.
The image, which appeared on the Volt's own Facebook page, shows a bright blue vehicle with its nose partially uncovered. Keen eyes will note some of the same matting that's on the Spark EV hatchback, while a softer-looking face takes the place of some of the current Volt's edginess. The Volt made a splash as the first-ever GM plug-in hybrid when it debuted in early 2011.
Chevrolet has also revealed that the 2016 Volt will have optimized charging, according to Car and Driver, which should allow for greater battery longevity and more precise charging based on location and energy rates.
If tradition is a guide, look forward to more images and information about the 2016 Volt before its official reveal at the 2015 Detroit auto show in early January.
