Talk about coming through in the clutch.
Drake University student Alex Tillinghast won a brand new Ford F-150 truck this week after hitting one of the most exciting shots in college basketball pre-season history.
In order to win the truck, Tillinghast had to make a layup, a free throw, a three-pointer and a half-court shot in 30 seconds during the school's annual "Bulldog Madness" event, according to USA Today.
It was clear from the get go that Tillinghast, who was wearing kakis during his quest, doesn't have a future in the NBA. He struggled to make a layup, missing not once, but twice, before he finally got one in the basket.
He had an even tougher time making a three-pointer. At that point things looked bleak for Tillinghast, but he was determined to put on a good show in front of his peers.
After sinking a three-point shot with five-seconds left on the clock, he had just enough time for a mid-court heave.
Now normally in other half-court viral videos the participant often has to collect his or her rebound after each missed shot, which makes things even harder. Tillinghast had his own personal rebounder to pass him the ball for each shot attempt.
Well the rebounder certainly did his part, as he sent a perfectly timed pass to Tillinghast with just two seconds left on the clock.
What happened next caused Drake basketball players and students to storm the court.
Congratulations on your new ride Alex. You earned it.
