Toyota is recalling 1.67 million vehicles worldwide as a preventative measure for brake systems that may fail and other issues.

Announcing three recalls altogether, the automaker has said that around 802,000 Crown Majesta, Crown, Noah and Voxy models produced between June 2007 and June 2012 may have faulty brakes and some 759,000 Toyota and Lexus sedans manufactured worldwide between January 2005 and September 2010 have fuel delivery pipe issues, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Additionally, the automaker has recalled 190,000 Corolla Rumion and Auris models in Japan that were produced between October 2006 and October 2014.

Around two-thirds of the 1.67 million recalled vehicles were sold in Japan, according to CNNMoney.

In the aftermath of the devastating General Motors small car recall earlier this year, automakers have been striving to recall vehicles before disaster happens. Under increased scrutiny from regulators, GM and other carmakers have recalled a record 30 million vehicles in North America this year, Bloomberg News reported.

"Carmakers have changed their attitude and recall anyway as long as the problem is happening with multiple vehicles," Koji Endo, a Tokyo-based auto analyst at Advanced Research Japan, told Bloomberg by phone. "Just in case."

Toyota is not aware of any accidents or injuries in connection with any of the three recalls.
