iPhone 6 Rumors: 4.7-Inch Display Shown in New Photos

A number of new photos were released this weekend supposedly providing an up-close look at an assembled 4.7-inch display for Apple's next iPhone.

The photos shows the cover glass, flex cables, and mounting structures.

Images were posted from Apple.club.tw, and are said to be production versions of both the white and black faceplate options, a color scheme that mirrors Apple's current iPhone 5S.

The display features a slimmed-down side bezels to fit the larger format 4.7-inch LCD, whereas the top and bottom areas with holes for Touch ID and ear speaker/sensor package are also modified.

The bezel widths are clearly visible with the white version.

Two flex cables can be seen jutting out from the display's top section, a design consistent with previous and current iPhone devices.

The connectors are very different compared to the ones used for the iPhone 5S, which are smaller and extend farther away from the display.

Apple logos can be seen near both the flex cables and a nearby QR code patch.

Other rumored specs include:  1704 x 960 pixel resolution, a faster A8 processor, camera upgrades, and a more durable, sapphire screen.

The next iPhone is expected to be released sometime this fall, though the exact release date has not been confirmed yet by the iPhone maker.

Apple's 4.7-inch "iPhone 6" is expected to come with a 2,100mAh battery, according to a report analyst Sun Chang Xu in a report on Chinese social media site Sin Weibo.

Apple will be hosting a "special media event" on September 9.

Many analysts have speculated that the 4.7-inch and a 5.5-inch iPhone 6 will debut at the event.

The larger of the two phones might not be released until 2015.
