Tesla Motors is banking on growth in Germany and may become a three-vehicle company in the next few years, Forbes reported.

The California-based company is finalizing a detailed clay model of the Model X SUV, which should arrive next year, according to CEO Elon Musk.

Speaking before an audience in Germany, Musk said the previously discussed $35,000 sedan is on track to be prototyped soon and will come with a larger battery option, as well as, the standard 200-mile range one.

Musk was in Germany to promote Tesla's existing Model S, as the company believes that demand for the sedans is on the rise. Tesla expects Germans to want 200-300 Model S cars per week by the end of next year. 

If Tesla can reach its goal in Germany, it should be able to triple total deliveries of vehicles by 2015 from its numbers this year.

The automaker hopes to build out a big enough network of Superchargers in Germany by next year to ensure that customers there aren't worried about driving their cars hard and losing range in the process, Forbes reported. The goal is to install around 50 chargers with a distance of less than 125 miles in between them.

As Tesla works to grow its German market, the company is developing a special Autobahn tuning package that will be available for free. While the details are still under wraps, the tuning package will likely related to better handling at high speeds, according to Forbes.

The next step for Tesla could be the less expensive, third-generation sedan, which could arrive in 2015. The vehicle, however, is still in early stages.

"Right now the 3rd generation car is just sketches," Musk said of the car some are calling Model E and which will reportedly go 200 miles on a single charge. "I think the first prototype of the Gen III probably about a year from now, 12-18 months... My best guess is first quarter of 2015.

"We'll move to clay model in maybe the middle of next year and the prototype maybe 6 months after that," he said.
