2013 SEMA Show Update: 2014 Ford Mustang GT Project Yellow Jacket Debut Expected

Ford has released the first photo of its 2014 Ford Mustang GT Project Yellow Jacket this week that's set to debut at the 2013 SEMA Show.

The yellow Mustang was created by Vortech Superchargers and has a number of external and internal alterations that the automaker believes will create a "serious sting" at the show.

The exterior comes with a new body kit, carbon-fiber accents, carbon-fiber cowl induction hood, and a custom yellow paint job by DuPont.

Vortech Superchargers equipped the vehicle with a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine, which can also be found in the 2014 Ford Mustang GT.

"As a lifelong Ford fan, I was inspired to create this project car when I realized Ford doesn't offer yellow on the 2014 Mustang," said Brian Ellis, sales, marketing and social media manager for AirPower Group, in a statement. "We wanted to create something really eye-popping with a mechanical package to match the appearance."

Vortech also added its V-3 Si supercharging system which supposedly helped increased the vehicle's output to 605 horsepower and 473 lb.-ft. of torque.

The suspension and braking systems were also improved, according to Ford.

Other features include 20-inch iForged wheels and Falken tires.

The SEMA Show is being held in Las Vegas on Nov. 5-8.
