Tropical Storm Humberto is gaining strength and many believe that by later this week it will become the first hurricane of 2013.
Humberto is currently moving through the Cape Verde Islands, according to NBC News.
The islands are being hit with high wind gusts and heavy rainfall, though there have been no deaths or injuries reported as of press time.
There is currently a 60 percent change that Humberto will become a hurricane this week and it could occur as early as Sept. 11, according to The National Hurricane Forecast Center.

A number of weather advisories have been issued along the Florida coast. Advisories include ones for Humberto and the previously downgraded Tropical Storm Gabrielle.
Gabrielle was downgraded after experts felt the storm was slowly dying down, but now it's gaining strength south of Bermuda, according to The National Hurricane Forecast Center.
The 2013 hurricane season started on June 1 and is expected to end Nov. 30.
The first hurricane of the season usually forms by Aug. 10, but one has yet to form so far in 2013.
The latest a first hurricane has formed was Hurricane Gustav on Sept. 11, 2002.
If Humberto forms into a hurricane after the 11th it would replace Gustav as the modern-day record holder, according to the U.S. National Hurricane Center.
The U.S. National Hurricane Center predicts the hurricane will have sustained winds of at least 74 mph by Sept. 11.
