The redesigned 2014 Mazda3 sedan was officially revealed this week with similar features to the Mazda6.
The new model comes equipped with either a 155-hp SkyActiv-G 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine or a 184-hp SkyActiv-G 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine.
The base Mazda 3 sedan with the 2.0-liter engine gets either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission according to a company press release.
The manual transmission will not be available for the 2.5-liter model.
The 2014 Mazda3 hatchback was revealed in June, and while pictures of the sedan have made its way around the internet, Mazda didn't officially reveal the vehicle until this week.
The Mazda3 will compete with the Toyota Corolla, Hyundai Elantra, Ford Focus, and the Honda Civic.
The EPA said the new Mazda3 hatchback with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and six-speed automatic transmission returns 30 mpg in city driving and 40 on the highway. Models equipped with a six-speed manual transmission return 29 mpg in city driving and 40 mpg on the highway.

Pricing has yet to be announced for the new Mazda's. The vehicle will go on sale in the U.S. this fall.
