The 2018 BMW Z4 has been spotted while testing on the Nurburgring track. Spy video reveals some interesting aerodynamics elements. The prototype was wearing canards on its bumpers!

The new roadster has been captured via video while undergoing tests on the Nurburgring track. The new model promises to be a superfast car with its new aerodynamics.

Looking at the video, the mule is still hiding under heavy wraps but the exposed aerodynamics of the new Z4 will excite the car analysts. The spotted prototype sports a pair of eye-catching winglets on the front bumper. Both sides of the bumper carry these set of aerodynamics elements.

Furthermore, there were additional elements on the rear wheel arches. These further hint that the new Z4 is prepping up to be a superfast car.

The 2018 BMW Z4 is reportedly taking a new platform. Apparently, the automaker has partnered with Toyota to develop a new chassis intended for the Z4 and Supra.

Moreover, the new roadster will come out with a revised roof. The conventional metal retracting roof will now be replaced by a soft-top, as seen on the spy video.

Listening to the noise that the car creates, one can hear a raspy sound. However, there is still no official statement on what type of engine will lie under the hood.

The new Z4 is expected to run with 2-liter and 3-liter petrol engines. It is believed that the base model can deliver 200 hp. Whereas, the high end variant, Z4 M40i M Performance will most likely produce a maximum of 350 hp.

The automaker has not released any official details on the launch date of the 2018 BMW Z4. Speculations predict that the new model will be introduced at the Pebble Beach Concourse d'Elegance, which is scheduled next month. It will most likely be launched in the upcoming 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show too.
