The 2018 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 has been spied again while undergoing a test in Nurburgring Nordschleife, Germany. The new design seems to give the new model a fiercer look.
Amidst the camouflage, several features of the sports car can be noticed. It seems that the new ZR1 carry some similar designs with its siblings.
The huge wing at the back of the new ZR1 appears to have the same gigantic size with the wing of the Corvette CR.7 GT Le Mans class race car. However, the wing on the new model seems to have been enhanced as it looks more stylish.
With regard to the front aero, the 2018 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 seems to have been treated differently compared with the existing Corvette Z06. The new design on the front fascia seems to give the new model the fiercer aura.
The new model's bumper now has four exhausts, where two huge openings on both sides can be found flanking the two grilles. The upper grille is almost close to the height of the side openings while a thin grille is placed under the big grille.
The headlights of the new ZR1 were not concealed. The mule confirms that the new model will retain the ones found in the existing model.
Furthermore, the 2018 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 will retain its taped-up bonnet bulge. Under the hood, the new model is expected to run with the enhanced variant of the supercharged 485kW/881Nm 6.2-liter V8 engine. The new model is also believed to have the 10-speed automatic transmission.
In another report, the new ZR1 is speculated to come with the exclusive seven-speed manual gearbox. Moreover, the new model will most likely be the first Corvette to run with the brand's active aero system.
The 2018 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is speculated to be released as the final high-end model to the seventh generation Corvette. The brand has not revealed the release date of the new model. Watch out for more updates in our next report.
