Toyota has partnered with French designer Jean-Marie Massaud to create what they've called the 2013 Me.We Concept vehicle, which was unveiled in Paris this week according to a company press release.

The Me.We vehicle was designed to incorporate recyclable polypropylene exterior removable body panels, can be used as a pickup, a convertible, and even an off-road vehicle according to Toyota.

As if those features weren't enticing enough, it's also an electric vehicle with individual in-wheel motors and a battery pack located under the load floor. This allows the model to focus on the well-being of the driver, passengers and their storage according to Toyota.

"(The vehicle is) an intelligent response to the ecological threats posed by mass production and the increasing number of cars on the world's roads, as it is made from materials that help reduce the energy it consumes and the CO2 and harmful emissions it produces," said Toyota in a press statement this week.

The model weights approximately 1,600 lbs due to aluminum chassis. Only 31 lbs of the weight is due to the panels.

Bamboo is used throughout the interior of the vehicle and is both "renewable and aesthetically pleasing," according to Toyota.

Toyota decided on the name because it "expresses simultaneous concern for both personal wellbeing (ME) and that of others (WE)" according to iol Motoring.com.

Massaud and Toyota designed the new model to be adaptable to a specific driver's lifestyle, reflect the attitudes of forward thinking drivers that aren't concerned by status according to a company press release.
