Mazda MX-5 Miata is one of the best-selling sports cars of all time. There isn’t another sports car that offers so much for so little money. Throughout the history, the MX-5 has remained an authentic, lightweight sports car. Its open-air driving style has been discovered by hundreds of thousands of people all over the world. As of April 2015, more than 1 million Miatas have been built.
As reported by Car Buzz, Mazda MX-5 Miata is a bit smaller dimensionally than its predecessor, but it is also lighter. Mazda’s designers and engineers were told to return the MX-5 Miata to its first generation glory, which meant that the weight of the car had to be cut down. The car comes with a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 155 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque. For transmission, the buyer can opt for a standard six-speed manual that sends power to the rear wheels or a six-speed slushbox option. On top of that, the new MX-5 RF is also hitting the market and it is a gorgeous car.
According to The Drive, the buyers from the western states of the U.S. can get a discount that comes in the form of a $1,500. They can also add in $500 in loyalty bucks if they already have a Mazda. That’s $2,000 off a car that starts at $24,915. This discount is only for the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata and the buyers would have to buy their 2016 Miata before May 1st if they want to use the discount. The most probable reason for the discount is the launch of the new Mazda Mx-5 Miata RF for the 2017 model year.
It seems that the highly-anticipated arrival of the car is encouraging the dealerships to try and sell as much of the old 2016 models as they can. Considering the MX-5 is unchanged between the two models, this discount works out well for everyone.
