2018 Subaru Outback Looks More Aggressive Yet More Silent

The 2018 Subaru Outback has just been revealed ahead of its scheduled debut at the 2017 New York Auto Show next week. The new Outback looks more aggressive and boasts of its improved performance.

The 2018 Subaru Outback offers a smoother ride and improved driving experience. The chassis suspension has been refined, as well as the steering response and brake system. The electric power steering system has been improved to deliver a more linear response to driver input.

Aside from the smoother ride, the new Subaru Outback is said to be quieter as the upcoming model has a new chain for its Lineartronic CVT. The engine timing was adjusted too so as to reduce powertrain noise.

Moreover, the redesigned exterior mirrors sport the right shape to eliminate wind noise. The new Outback's front side windows feature the latest sound-insulating glass.

With regard to the engine, the engine options are the same. Buyers can choose from the 175-hp 2.5-liter flat-four engine or the 3.6-liter flat six engine that can deliver 256 hp. In both engine options, the new model has the brand's Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system with Active Torque Vectoring.

On the inside, the 2018 Subaru Outback now wears the latest premium materials. An additional unique stitching around the dashboard, door panels, and seats are now visible in the new model.

Buyers will probably like the new color option for the interiors. Aside from the current Warm Ivory and Slate Black, the new Outback will also come in Titanium Gray.

The infotainment system of the new Outback has been refreshed too. Buyers can choose from the standard 6.5-inch display or the 8-inch display screen. However, the first option is not compatible with Android Auto nor Apple CarPlay.

The upcoming Outback has been redesigned on the outside too. The front cladding supports protection from mud. The front grille is now lower and wider than the current model.

The most interesting part of the upcoming 2018 Subaru Outback points to the latest technology features. Reports say that the new model comes with Subaru's EyeSight Driver Assist Technology and High Beam Assist. Whereas, the Limited and Touring trims include Steering Responsive Headlights.

Check out the 2018 Subaru Outback when it launches at the 2017 New York Auto Show next week. The new model will go on sale later this year.
