T-Mobile $99 iPhone 5 Finally Goes On Sale Joining Verizon, AT&T, Sprint (VIDEO)

T-Mobile, the fourth-largest wireless provider in the U.S. has started offering Apple's iPhone 5 for the first time ever today, April 12 according to a company press release.

Interested customers can purchase the iPhone 5 for approximately $99 down and 24 monthly payments of $20 according to T-Mobile. The company has also confirmed that they'll take older iPhones as trade-ins for the new one with no down payment and credit will go towards future bills.

The new offer is a part of T-Mobile's new "Un-carrier" plan which "frees users from annual contracts. Monthly plans begin at $50 for unlimited talk and text and 500 MB of data. Users can get 2GB of data for $10 extra according to PC Mag.com.

The 32GB option is $199 down, while the 64GB is $299.

Older Apple devices like the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S will be on sale through T-Mobile in certain markets. The 4S will be made available for just $69.99 down and $20 per month with a two year deal. The iPhone 4 will be sold for $14.99 and $15 per month for 24 months.

Apple's iPhone 5 recently passed Samsung's Galaxy S 3 last quarter to become the top-selling smartphone in the world according to a report released by Strategy Analytics.

"Apple's iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S together accounted for 1 in 5 of all smartphones shipped worldwide in Q4 2012," Strategy Analytics executive director Neil Mawston said in a press statement. "This was an impressive performance, given the iPhone portfolio's premium pricing.

A new iPhone isn't expected to be released until late 2013.
