Novitec’s Maserati Levante Packs More Horsepower, Torque, Aggressive Look

The Maserati Levante is drawing a lot of attention from performance tuners lately. The latest to join the fray is Germany's Novitec which recently released a tuned-up version of the Levante SUV.

Novitec made upgrades not only on the external design of the well-loved Maserati SUV. The tuning house also made significant upgrades under the hood.

Novitec's Maserati Levante sports quite a handful of carbon fiber parts. The new SUV now features updated front and rear spoilers. It was also kitted with lower sills and a diffuser. An updated air suspension also made the Levante almost an inch lower than the stock model.

The new Levante can be kitted with an optional 22-inch, split-spoke wheels. They are available in three color options: silver, titanium, and matte black.

As with almost every performance tuners, the most important thing is what is under the hood. Novitec was able to push the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine to produce 494 horsepower and 486lb-ft of torque. That is a significant upgrade considering that the stock Levante engine only produces 430 horsepower and 427lb-ft of torque.

This added performance upgrade allows the Maserati Levante to accelerate from zero to 62mph in just 4.8 seconds. According to Car Scoops, the SUV has a top speed of 169mph.

Novitec said that it is also offering upgrades for the diesel-powered Levante. The 275hp diesel-powered Levante can be upgraded to 322hp with a zero to 62mph sprint time of 6.2 seconds. The 250horsepower diesel model can be upgraded to 301 horsepower.

Depending on owner's preference, Novitec can also equip the Maserati Levante with an optional active exhaust system. This allows the SUV to produce a more aggressive sound and better sound, all at a push of a button, according to Motor1.
