This 2017, Ford is celebrating their 40th year that the F-150 has ranked as the best-selling truck in the United States, outselling the Silverado and Sierra combined by 24,243 trucks last year. Ford's F-150 has been the best-selling vehicle for 35 years and best-selling truck for 40 consecutive years.
After three years, Ford has unveiled their military-grade, top-strength, aluminum alloy-bodied F-150. The new 2018 Ford F-150 now comes with bold new front and rear styling, advanced technologies such as Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection and improved powertrains.

This new F-150 is our latest example of Ford's commitment to going further for our customers through continuous innovation."
All of the grilles are flanked by brand new headlights in two versions, one for the low-end trims and one filled with LEDs for the much more expensive versions. All the lights are reshaped, with their ends reaching farther toward the center of the F-150.
In addition, the grilles also dip down lower in a brand new bumper, with a filler piece separating the bumper from lights and grille. Six brand new wheel designs range in size from 17 to 22 inches in diameter.
On the rear part, the 2018 model gets new lighting elements, but the updates are more subtle. A new split is located between the upper and lower portion of the element, whereas before it was to be all in one piece. The lower trim levels get a trapezoid look with the F-150 embossed across the lower section.
Under the hood, Fords builds its performance leadership by giving the most advanced F-150 engine lineup ever. A brand new direct-injected 3.3-liter V6 replaces the old 3.5-liter V6 and is expected to make 282 hp and 253 lb-ft of torque. The 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 gets some love too.
The 5.0-liter V8 engine also sees some improvements in 2018. The naturally aspirated engine highlights important upgrades for increased power and torque. It's matched with the 10-speed automatic transmission for the very first time.
Aside from those engines mentioned above, the 2018 model also adds an all-new 3.0-liter Power Stroke diesel engine that's paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. It's also the first-ever diesel engine that is available on an F-150.
The 2018 Ford F-150 will go on sale in fall 2017. It will be manufactured at Dearborn Truck Plant in Dearborn, Michigan and Kansas City Assembly Plant in Missouri.
