The Bugatti Veyron has been certified by the Guinness Book of World Record as the fastest police car in the world. The certification was given when Dubai police force included the car in its fleet of supercars.

Dubai has 14 supercars in its fleet. Daily Mail reported that the fleet includes an Aston Martin One - 77, Hybrid Porsche Panameras, and a Bentley Continental GT among others. Dubai police often use the car, not in a hot car chase but instead it is used to roam around malls and other areas for tourist attraction.

According to CNN News, the supercar fleet was started by the Sultan in 2013. From a sleepy output dessert, the tourist marketing gimmick became a hit not only with the locals but with an international market. Its first supercar acquisition is a Lamborghini Aventador and the rest followed suit. Dubai is now known as one of the fastest growing city in the world. In order to further promote diversity and gender equality, some of the drivers of these supercars are women.

The Bugatti Veyron can run up to a dizzying speed of 253 miles per hour. According to GT Spirit it is powered by a 1200 HP, quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 engine. It is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. It controls all 4 wheels for easy handling. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 miles per hour in just 2.06 second.

With the success of supercars in its fleet of police cars, other luxury car manufacturers are sending an interest for inclusion in the fleet. Car dealers would like to take advantage of the prestige in belonging to a prestigious police force to market their own brands. According to an executive of a premium car manufacturer, it pays to be used by the Dubai police. Once you are in nobody would like to get out and a lot want to be one of the guys.
