Recently, HTC has launched a limited edition of the U Ultra smartphone with Sapphire Glass Display. It is currently available for pre-order in Taiwan.
As of the moment, the company has yet to release a statement whether or not the HTC U Ultra Sapphire Glass edition will be available for sale worldwide. But fans are certainly hoping it will be.
The limited edition smartphone boasts a 128GB of built-in storage. It carries a price tag of $945.
It is available in all four color variants the original version was launched in Black, White, Pink and Blue. For those customers who have pre-ordered the 128GB variant, they will also receive a leather flip case, a Quick Charge 3.0 power bank, and a key ring.
One of the most notable features of the HTC U Ultra Limited Edition is the secondary display with 1040x160 pixels resolution alongside the 5.7-inch QHD (1440x2560 pixels) display.
It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM. As for the storage, it is expandable with the help of a micro SD memory card for up to 2TB.
The optics for the HTC U Ultra Limited edition boasts a 12-UltraPixel rear camera. It also has a 16-megapixel selfie camera with an UltraPixel mode and a BSI sensor.
The 12-megapixel UltraPixel rear camera features f/1.8 aperture with Optical Image Stabilization, ultra fast laser focus and PDAF with dual-tone LED flash. The U Ultra Limited Edition is also capable of recording videos in 4K resolution.
As for the phone's features and specifications, BGR wrote an official report. An excerpt from the report reads:
The HTC U Ultra flaunts a 5.7-inch Super LCD 5 display with 2560×1440 pixel resolution and Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. Running under the hood is a 2.15GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM. There is also 64GB built-in storage. Further expansion option is also available via microSD card up to 2TB.
