2014 Kia Forte Sedan Pricing Revealed For As Low As $15,900 (PHOTOS/ VIDEO)

Kia Motors revealed this week that the redesigned 2014 Forte sedan will be sold for $15,999, making it the cheapest new mid-size model in America according to a company press release.

After adding an $800 destination charge, the vehicle's price rounds out to approximately $16,700, which is still $295 cheaper than the newest Ford Focus sedan. The Forte is also $1,060 less than the latest Hyundai Elantra sedan.

"The all-new Forte offers our customers world-class design with plenty of refinement and an abundance of amenities, all at a tremendous value," said Tom Loveless , executive vice president of sales, KMA. "With its sleek and sporty profile, two new powertrains and redesigned, driver-centric cockpit, the Forte is primed to become a standout in the very competitive compact segment."

The larger Forte will offer a "sportier and more upscale" design with more interior space, and better overall performance than past models.

Kia will make the Forte available in LX and EX variants, and will be powered by either the powerful 2.0-liter 173-horsepower GDI option or the fuel-efficient 1.8-liter 148-horsepower engine. Fuel economy for the 2.0 option is expected to be 24 miles per gallon of in city driving, 36 mpg on the highway, and 28 combined according to the Associated Press.
