The competition between Intel and AMD will definitely see no end. Recently, AMD is reported to come up with a 16-core, 32-thread Ryzen Titan to challenge Intel Broadwell-E and Skylake-X. Gaming enthusiasts are the first to benefit if AMD ever releases this in the future. For the two, it is an intense competition, however, for the consumers, the competition is an opportunity to have the best chip ever created.
AMD Ryzen 7 1800X, 1700X, and 1700 all made its appearance and market introduction the beginning of this month and not long will it be followed again by another intense processor. The chip is reported to be in direct competition with Intel's HEDT line. This is according to Extreme Tech and it continues by sharing a report by FLCLimax at Overclock.net.
From the site, this alleged chip is set to be out in a few months. It promises to be insanely fast and is proving to be doing well in tests where Ryzen is already excelling. Issues concerning Ryzen AM4 CPUs behaving erratically have already been ironed out. This should be competing with Xeon and 6950X Intel which is being offered in the market at $1700 to $1800. AMD's answer to this is reported to only be $1000.
This rumor may actually come to fruition. It is known that AMD is already planning to build 32-core Ryzen with eight memory channels. The 16-core device could turn out to be a quad-channel part which will challenge the HEDT lineup. However, it also important to note that this chip may not immediately be a cup of tea for all gaming enthusiasts.
AMD is suggested to cut clock speeds. Several actions still need to be taken into consideration for this chip to perform at its most optimum. The CPUs depends on how multi-threaded workloads are. If AMD continues with its plan to produce a 16-core Ryzen, it needs to give up on some clock speed for it to be possible.
As added by The Inquirer, this news is somehow related to leaks from February last year which indicated that the Zen architecture underlying Ryzen could run to as much as 32-cores. This leak apparently came from an enthusiastic CERN engineer. It is best to stay tuned if indeed this plan of AMD pushes for its plan to release its 16-core, 32-thread Ryzen Titan to challenge Intel Broadwell-E and Skylake-X. Any official news will immediately be reported.
