The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is set to unveil its release on the coming New York International Auto Show and as the day passes by, lots of tidbits dropping on the Internet about this two-door muscle car. The most interesting here is the rumors circulating on its incredible performance and speed, which leaves everyone in question, how powerful this supercar is?
Dodge has revealed that the super-Hellcat's infotainment system used in the latest Dodge Demon will display the car's real-time horsepower, Road and Track reported. It will also show its torque output and a data logging to check power improvements.
The system also shows intercooler temp, as part of the cars' After Run Chiller that keeps coolant fan and intercooler pump running after shutting down the engine. This is to properly cool the supercharger system. Features also include the Line-Lock, launch control RPM and individual gear shift light RPM, which can be all adjusted in the infotainment system.
But what makes 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon outstand the other muscle cars is its torque system, which is called Advance Torque Reserve. According to Auto Week, the system is activated when the car engages launch control and closes the supercharger bypass valve.
It is made in order to fill the supercharger, which changes fuel distribution and ignition timing. Also, the advance torque reserve system maximizes air flow through the engine when the supercharger reaches above 1000rpms.
Dodge also announces that the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon will come with an electronically controlled adaptive suspension. It aims to maximize weight transfer at the drag strip without making the car sloppy in any driving condition.
The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon was first announced in January and was rumored that the car can be swirled up to a maximum of 850 horsepower. Dodge hasn't confirmed yet these speculations but supercar enthusiast has about to end these hearsays once the car unveils in April.
