iPhone SE may not have made a big splash as it was released earlier than iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. However, it did well and the iPhone SE 2 is highly anticipated and will soon be released in some parts before making its debut in the US soon enough according to varying sources.

iPhone SE is considered a budget-friendly version of the iPhone. It offers solid features as its more expensive counterparts but comes with a price tag that's not too steep. Others are now given the opportunity to use and be introduced to the iPhone world because of this device first launched Q1-Q2 of 2016.

The alleged new SE is now highly favored to be released as a better and more improved version of the outgoing device. It is still expected to be more reasonable compared to all other iPhones. With this, the all-important release date is in question. When is it going to be released? Well, according to PC Advisor UK, it is reported to be released first in the UK this month.

This speculation is brought about after industry experts predicting its release a year after the UK launch. It is common knowledge that the predecessor of iPhone SE 2 was released exactly a year ago and a considerable hit. It may not have been as highly publicized, however, it still made good in sales in one way or the other.

The release of iPhone SE 2 even raised more speculations as US retailer, Target, will be returning unsold iPhone SE models to Apple by March 1, 2017. This is allegedly in preparation for the release of the second generation SE. It also makes sense that this return is brought about by bad sales, however, it seems coincidental and strategic to a certain degree.

However, there are also reports saying that the iPhone SE 2 may be following the footsteps of iPhone 5C which is one-off. There were no other updates after the 5C release. Various reports from different sources are pointing to different directions. This device's future seems to be blurry.

As added by MacWorld UK, to support the last statement saying that iPhone SE 2 will not happen, KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi-Kuo's forecast leads to such direction. This decision is brought about by Apple losing potential revenue from iPhone 7 sales. Since this device will be reasonably less expensive, interested iPhone users and converts may just opt to buy it instead of the iPhone 7.
