Alleged photos of the 2017 Moto Z have surfaced recently. The photo stirred a lot of conversation on the tech community especially since it is hauntingly similar to the phone where the Gamepad Moto Mod was attached when it was unveiled during this year's Mobile World Congress.
When Lenovo, the company that owns Motorola Mobility, unveiled the Gamepad Moto Mod, the accessory was attached to an unnamed smartphone, according to Android Pit. With the recent leaks, tech analysts have carved out some similarities to these two phones.
The timing of this recent leak might just be coincidental. However, many analysts have pointed out that the current-generation Moto Z model was unveiled in June 2015. This led many to speculate that Lenovo might be working on to build some hype towards the smartphone prior to its official launch.
Yesterday, Motorola and Sprint tested the carries Gigabit-Class LTE service during an NBA game between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Toronto Raptors. Based on Sprint's press release, the Motorola phone used during the test is a future flagship phone and it packs a Snapdragon 835 chipset which has an integrated X16 LTE modem.
"Our high-band 2.5GHz TDD LTE spectrum is uniquely suited for Gigabit Class LTE, and we fully intend to maximize our deep spectrum holdings to provide customers with more immersive and connected mobile experiences," Sprint CTO Dr. John Saw said in a statement acquired by Phone Arena.
Whether the recently leaked photo is really that of the 2017 Moto Z is yet to be confirmed, especially since both Lenovo and Motorola have kept mum about it. Nevertheless, the recent leak is sure to spark some conversation and drive up hype towards the upcoming flagship smartphone.
