2017 Honda CIVIC Type R: Faster and More Powerful Than Ever

The 2017 Honda Civic Type R will be launched in the oncoming Geneva Motor show. However, due to leaked pictures to the press, fans already have an idea on how the new car would look like. The 10th generation Civic will be Honda's main attraction during the Motor Show.

The feature of the official car is not far away from the prototype that was shown to the public at the Paris Motor Show last year. A huge rear wing, the triple exhaust pipe, and the bonnet vent are all present in the official design.

Evo News reported that though there is no official release of its specification yet, it would not deviate much on its prototype. Under its hood is a 306 HP 2.0 LITER, 4 cylinder engine. It is however theorized that it is going to have a 10 percent increase of its power.

The powerful engine will be connected to a manual 6-speed transmission gearbox. It will be a front-wheel drive for easier maneuver for the vehicle. With the current generation only debuted last 2015, the 2017 Honda Civic Type R is considered to be unprecedented that a new design was introduced too soon. However, this is considered by market players as a smart move to keep the public's interest and rival the likes of Renault, Volkswagen, Seat, and Ford.

The 2017 Honda Civic will have a 5 door body like its brother, the 5 Door Civic Hatchback. It will be manufactured in Honda's Swindon facility in the United Kingdom. According to Motor Authority, it will have a worldwide market. In fact, this is the first time that the Honda Civic Type R will be marketed in North America. It will have a market price in the middle of 30k to rival other motor companies' recent models.
