The 2017 Honda CRV and the 2017 Nissan Rogue are top choices in the compact SUV market. These two best-selling SUVs have plenty to offer and both made by trusted Japanese automakers.

According to a report by Cars.com, the 2017 Rogue has new styling and interior updates. It also has sound insulation and a new hybrid model. The CR-V, on the other hand, is redesigned with new styling and larger dimensions. The wheelbase stretches by 1.6 inches, and the SUV also gets a new engine. Both models and all trim levels are available in all-wheel and front-wheel drive.

Road Performance. The Honda CRV has various engine choices. They range from 184-horsepower to 190-horsepower. They both come with a CVT. On the other hand, the Rogue has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 170-horsepower. While the CRV does offer two good choices, the Rogue wins this category.

Tech and Entertainment. The Nissan Rogue has a 5-inch multimedia display, satellite radio, and a backup camera. The CR-V has a 5-inch screen and a volume knob that is easy to use. It also comes standard with smartphone integration and more tech and entertainment features in general. The Honda CR-V is the clear winner.

Family-Friendliness. According to The Car Connection, the Rogue offers a third row as an option, while the Honda CR-V has an overall advantage when you take into consideration every square inch of space. The Nissan SUV's seating is not too high or too low and has a roomy backseat. The Honda SUV has more ample cargo space with very generous rear seats. Once again, the CRV wins.

Value. The Nissan Rogue and the CR-V go head-to-head and both starts at around $24,000. The Rogue is slightly cheaper on all trim levels. However, the CR-V offers better value for the money.
