Apple recently rolled out iOS 10.3 beta 4 to registered developers and public beta testers. This is quite a download requiring 439.8 megabytes on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Basically, this particular update is mostly bug fixes and not a whole lot going on that you are actually going to see feature-wise. But the question is: Should you update?

One of the features included in this update is a new application status. If you tap into it, a list of applications will be displayed. These applications that show up may need an update or may slow down your device due to the fact that the developers failed to update them to support the latest version of iOS. 

The "Find My AirPods" feature is also part of the iOS 10.3 beta 4, which is one of the most anticipated apps in the upcoming full iOS update. According to MacRumors, this is designed to assist AirPod owners in locating their missing earphones, just in case. It records the last known location such that where was the AirPod last connected to via Bluetooth and plays a sound on a lost AirPod.

Also part of the update are Wi-Fi Calling for iCloud-connected devices for Verizon customers, Apple CarPlay improvements such as quick access to albums from songs in Music, new Up Next screen, and a new 32-bit alert suggesting iOS 11 could be 64-bit only. The new Apple File System (APFS) which could free up some space and iCloud Analytics are included, too, reports 9To5Mac. 

Now, remember the black screen you get when opening certain applications? That is no longer there and it seems apple was able to fix that. But what they were not able to fix is when you simultaneously use AirDrop and Rotation Lock, and the phone freezes, it is still there.

On the App Store, some changes would be introduced with the iOS 10.3 beta 4. This includes a new system-wide app review request and a way for devs to reply to app reviews. Users can the label reviews as "Helpful" or "Not Helpful."

Well, should you update? Overall, the iOS 10.3 beta 4 feels a bit smoother and it seems everything is in a way falling in place. We will have to wait until the official iOS update is here to actually monitor any changes in battery performance and how it runs. Only you can decide whether or not try out the fourth beta build before finally updating fully when the iOS 10.3 is here.

The final release following iOS 10.3 beta 4 could be closer now, probably within a couple weeks. But we can't say for sure. In the meantime, stay tuned for more updates and release date when Apple finally rolls out the latest iOS 10.3.
