Lotus, a British sports car maker, has announced the evolution of one of the marque's most significant and sensational cars, the Lotus Exige Race 380. It is also known as the 2017 Lotus Exige Sport 380. This car model will become the race car of choice for the 2017/2018 season for teams and also for the privateers.

Last year, the model was proven as one of Lotus' most successful new models. It has a power of 375 hp at 6,700 rpm and 410 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. Exige 380 comes with a Xtrac 6-speed sequential transmission, oil cooler, and a cassette-type plate limited slip differential.

The Exige Race 380 can run from zero to 60 mph sprint in just 3.2 seconds with just 1 minute and 23.5 seconds of Hethel lap time. The aerodynamic of the Exige 380 constructs a 240 kg of downforce at 170 mph. It is controlled by the attentive and careful use of vents that are included in the front bodywork, and rear bumper joined with a grille mounted at the rear.

The car will be using a Michelin Pilot Sports Cup 2 tires as the standard 215/45 ZR17 at the front and 265/35 ZR18 at the rear. A new set of ultra-lightweight forged alloy wheels will be joined to an AP Racing braking system formed with four-piston calipers and grooved two-piece brake discs.

The suspension system of the 2017 Lotus Exige Sport 380 includes a 2-way adjustable Öhlins damper system and an adjustable front and rear anti-roll bars.The Lotus Traction Control System is shaped with a completely flexible setup.

Meanwhile, a full, integrated roll cage, lightweight FIA Carbon driver seat and a six-point harness, also an ultra-lightweight polycarbonate side windows, competition specification fire extinguisher, battery isolator and front and rear motorsport towing eyes are the inside features of the Lotus Exige Race 380. An ultra-lightweight carbon fiber tailgate panel is placed over the engine, and the air intake of the carbon fiber pods are positioned to either side of the Exige 380.

The 2017 Lotus Exige Sport 380 is now available to order with a price of £99,500 excluding the VAT. The first production cars will reach the owners in May 2017.
