The 2017 Mobile World Congress will not officially go live until Monday. However, its "day zero" or press conference day was already said and done.
The Mobile World Congress is an annual event. It is the world's biggest showcase for wireless technology and mobile devices. Every tech giant and smartphone companies utilize the event to show off their flagship devices and make new debuts.
The MVC press day made way for some of the great debuts. LG debuted the LG G6 for the day.
The G6 is LG's 2017 flagship phone. It offers a 5.7-inch screen. Not only that, but it also provides an unusually tall 18:9 aspect ratio instead of the 16:9 standard.
The G6 is also the first phone to come with support for Dolby Vision HDR. This could potentially mean it will come up with better-looking images and HD videos.
It is entirely waterproof for those who loves the great outdoors. It's also equipped with a dual-lens camera with some photo tricks.
On the other hand, Nokia showed off the new 3310 "feature phone." The revival of the classic Nokia 3310 is probably one of the most awaited reveals of the night.
The new 3310 is a non-smartphone based on the 90s classic. It boasts new features such as the 2-megapixel camera.
The altered look is also new to the fans. The new 3310 has gotten mixed responses from the crowd with half claiming it will ruin the image of the original model, while some are saying the change is for the better.
Samsung ended the Mobile World Congress' press day. The South Korean multinational conglomerate company revealed two new tablets.
One of the tablets was an Android while the other was powered by Windows OS. Samsung also showcased a new Gear VR headset with a bundled controller.
No Samsung Galaxy S8 yet, much to the dismay of the audience. According to the video teaser by Samsung, the S8 will be unveiled on March 29 in New York City.
