Pokemon Go Hot Again: Why Pokemon Day With Pikachu theme Makes The Game Exciting; 80 New Pokemon Now Available

After going viral almost instantly after its launch in the summer of 2016, Pokémon Go is gaining an all new hype with new game updates. More on the subject, Pokémon Day is going to be Pikachu -themed.

According to USA Today, 80 additional Pokémon were released by Niantic Labs for players to capture. Additional mechanics were also incorporated to make capturing more exciting. Another game tweak is an interface that makes it easier for players to swap berries or Poké balls.

Additional details about the character additions were from the released 2000 Pokémon Gold and Silver for Game Boy Color by Nintendo, like Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile. These additional characters and game tweaks caused the enormous leap from 77th to the 3rd most popular App on Google Play while from 149th to 30th overall in the Apple App Store in the week of the update. All in all, these statistics make it the highest grossing app.

This update comes in sync with the celebration of Pokémon Day to start on February 26. Reports note that on this day, all Pikachu captured will be donning festive hats and players get to keep the hat forever. This announcement came on the company website.

The anniversary of the series on February 27 marks the exact Pokémon Day that commemorates the series launch in Japan in 1996. The festivities related to this anniversary special lasts until March 6.

Pokemon Go which is based on the series launched last year became an instant hit across the world. It made the hunt and catching creatures a richer experience since the players use GPS to look for Pokémon lurking ultimately anywhere. Even if these updates and festivities bring the hype back to only a fraction of the popularity from when it started, it definitely rounds up all the excitement that makes the game want players catching them all!
