2017 Audi A4: A Car That's Carefully Redesigned For 2017

For the last two decades, Audi has been developing new cars and has managed to expand its lineup while steadily improving its many models. An example is with its all new 2017 Audi A4, which managed to place highly in US News and World Report's ranking of upscale small cars this year.

The new A4 shares the MLB platform with some other Audi models, including the A8 and Q5. It's equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces an impressive 252 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. It's paired with a seven-speed dual clutch S-Tronic transmission that sends the power to all four wheels thanks to the Quattro all-wheel drive.

On the inside, it comes with a next generation interior, complete with a virtual cockpit that features a massive 12.3-inch LCD screen with 1440x540 pixel resolution and a NVIDIA quad-core processor, huge and customizable display that swaps the instrument cluster. The car is also equipped with the market's latest high-tech safety systems which scan the outside for potential hazard. It's also capable of semi-autonomous driving.

The rest of the interior maintains the somber family looks, and aluminum accents throughout the cabin can help break up the dominance of the black plastic. It's still the cold, hard, German interior that the automaker owners have used for generations.

Twisty roads are where the 2017 Audi A4 dominates, with flat cornering and sure-footed Quattro grip. Audi claims that it can accelerate 60 mph in just 6.1 seconds in front-drive form and 5.7 seconds with Quattro all-wheel-drive. The last 2012 A4 with a turbo 2.0-liter and eight-speed automatic took 5.8 seconds and 14.4 seconds at a 94.5mph each.

Furthermore, the Prestige trim has a base price of $48,950. Standard features include LED taillights, eight-way front seats with four-way driver's lumbar, leather seats, power side mirrors, heated and cooled front seats with driver's seat memory, power sunroof, LED interior lighting, rearview camera, keyless entry and push button start, three-zone climate control.

The 2017 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro has a starting price of $40,350. The car also shows a significant improvement over the already capable previous generation and should be able to give a good fight with the best cars in its segment.
