A restaurant in Sapporo, Japan is fining customers who don't finish their meals according to a report by GoldNews.com.

The report states that Hachikyo, a seafood restaurant in Sapporo, charges customers who leave any left overs of the restaurants signature dish, the tsukko meshi, which is a bowl of rice piled high with more salmon roe then you could imagine, on their plates. A warning is placed inside the menu according to Gawker.

The dining experience is similar to that of being a kid at the dinner table and not being able to get dessert unless you finish all your food according GoldNews. Instead of not getting dessert however, your wallet becomes a little lighter.

The fine is for a good cause according to GoldRush. The restaurant owners simply want to honor the fishermen who "brave dangerous conditions" to provide the food for the restaurant, and when someone doesn't completely empty their plate, they're being disrespectful.

"It is forbidden to leave even one grain of rice in your bowl," according to the restaurants warning as reported by Gawker. "Customers who don't finish their tsukko meshi must give a donation."

No one has admitted to being fined yet, as it is very rare someone visits the restaurant without actually finishing their meal. A waitress at the restaurant told GoldRush that "hardly anyone leaves their tsukko meshi unfinished."

The business strategy works however, as it has helped the restaurant owner open a second location in Tokyo, which will open in April.
