Land Rover Velar Is The Newest Addition To Land Rover’s Roster of SUVs; Check Out Its Superb Specs and Features

Presenting the Land Rover Velar, the newest addition to Land Rover's fleet of SUVs. This is the 4th member of the Range Rover family and here are a few things to know about this newbie.

Business Insider mentioned that the Land Rover Velar will be debuting in the Geneva Motor Show. This latest model sits above the latest Range Rover Evoque but below the Range Rover Sport.

With this positioning of the said model, it clearly allows buyers to have an advantageous position if they are looking for $50,000 to $60,000 price option vehicles. Range Rover Evoque is priced at about $42,000 while the Range Rover Sport is around $66,000 thus the Land Rover Velar makes it appealing to buyers to have more options to choose from.

According to Maxims, Gerry McGovern, the Chief Design Officer, this new model "brings a new dimension of glamor, modernity and elegance to the brand."He also said that the Land Rover Velar is the avant-garde Range Rover.

The all-new Land Rover Velar derived its name from Range Rover prototypes in the 60's. The name "Velar" was used before when it was planning to build a new model line for the secret Range Rover prototypes hence, borrowing the Latin word "velare" which means "veil".

While there is still no details or confirmation as to what are the specifications of this new model, the Land Rover promises that there will be all-new technologies plus it will be the first to be built using sustainable materials, something to look forward to. Aside from that, it is said that the Velar will have sloping glass roof which is smoother than any of the Land Rover models and is expected to be focused more on the off-road qualities and features. Additionally, its rear end features wrap-around tail lights, integrated spoilers and other styling cues derived from other Range Rover models.

The Land Rover Velar is said to be a direct competition for the Audi 2nd Generation Q5 and Porsche Macan. All will definitely be revealed during the Geneva Motor Show and we will surely not miss the company's announcement.
