Playing "Doom" will get you hooked as you tear down the undead and demons and drag them back to hell.  But modding a $200,000 2017 Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet to play "Doom" is simply sick. A recently viral YouTube video shows just how you can mod your expensive Porsche to play this iconic first-person shooter video game.

Let's clear the air first. To clarify, the YouTube tutorial modding video created by Matt Swarthout, aka vexal, is a total hoax! Okay! Playing "Doom" on a 2017 Porsche 911 is totally NOT real! It is only a joke! 

But hats off to this guy, though, for pulling off what seems like a realistic way to mod your very expensive Porsche. For those unfamiliar with this guy's work, notice the suspicious-looking toaster sitting quietly on the passenger's seat?

Well over two years ago, Swarthout also filmed a tutorial vid on how to mod just about "any commercially available toaster" to play "Doom 2" in only "3 easy steps." Sound familiar?

Plus, according to AutoBlog, what gave away this seemingly realistic tutorial vid is the infotainment screen on the 2017 Porsche 911. Simply put, can you actually map the various controls of the car without any prior setup?

The report furthered that Video Dude explains this is part of a recent trend that automakers are reportedly opening up their systems so that buyers can do anything with them. This basically is not true, as these systems are totally locked down more than ever. In fact, automakers are finding more ways to keep customers out at every digital turn.

Still, if you are wondering what the "3 easy steps" to mod your 2017 Porsche 911 in order to play "Doom," then here it is. First, insert a USB key with a single file containing the vehicle's VIN into the infotainment system's USB port and then start the car. Insert the game's disc into the CD drive and choose the game using a sequence of button and screen presses.

As for the controls, change direction using the steering wheel, swap weapons by changing the  gear, and shoot the undead by honking the horn. Of course, to move forward, you'll have to drive forward and accelerate in real life.

Playing "Doom" on a 2017 Porsche 911 is more than dangerous, risking the life of not only the driver but also any other individual involved, in case an accident occurs. Gladly, all this is nothing but a joke. But if you do happen to mod your vehicle, please do tell us!
