Toyota i-TRIL teaser photo has surfaced recently. Toyota dropped some hints on the new city car prior to its major debut in the upcoming 2017 Geneva Motor Show, together with the launch of Toyota Yaris and Yaris GRMN.
The photo released by Toyota does not give away many details. Car enthusiasts will have to visit the 2017 Geneva Motor show to see more details of the upcoming vehicle.
In the photo, the small grille and LED lights can be spotted. It seems that the new car will follow the design of the i-ROAD due to its similar small size too.
The new car appears quite tall and slim too. It was already confirmed by the automaker that the new car will house three passengers in a one-plus-two layout.
The new i-TRIL has similarities with the Renault Twizy electric car. Just like the latter, it also has the same all-electric powertrain concept.
The new i-TRIL is also designed to be environment-friendly. According to Toyota, the new concept features the company's research innovations in producing improved mobility which is friendly to the environment.
Furthermore, the new i-TRIL will have a similar feature with the i-ROAD. The same "Active Lean" technology used on the i-ROAD was also used on the i-TRIL.
Moreover, AutoExpress speculates that the new car will most likely have the same construction to the i-ROAD. The i-TRIL might also have a low-powered electric motor, lightweight materials and a top speed of about 30mph.
In another report, the new vehicle seems to present Toyota's vision of how driving will be after 10 years. The concept seems to project a new vehicle substitute for city cars in the next 10 years, Car Magazine has noted.
Toyota shared that it has developed the new i-TRIL as a good substitute to small hatchbacks, all-electric EV models, city cars and motorcycles. The new car is designed for those who want to enjoy the driving experience even at a slower pace with the urban traffic.
