"The girl decided she wanted to visit her father, who lived in a different location. She picked up the car keys and got in the car and drove away," Pittsburgh Police Sgt. Jerry Parker said.
Police have yet to release the name of the girl, whose mother was sleeping at the time according to the Associate Press.
The girl took the woman's keys at around 9 a.m. on Feb. 3 according to the police report.
"How she knew how to operate a car, your guess is as good as mine," said Police Sgt. Jerry Parker, who added that the girl is tall for her age.
The young girl hit two parked vehicles, pushing one of them into a third, before finally hitting a utility pole which stopped the vehicle.
No was injured in the crash.
The girl's father arrived at the scene to take her home after the accident. Police have yet to determine if anyone will face criminal charges as they are still investigating the matter.
The crash occurred just a few days after a 10-year-old girl drove into a convenience store after 31-year-old Linda Morales allowed the minor to drive her car.
Morales was cited for the incident and released according to Yahoo.
Police stated that on Feb. 1 the girl drove the car less than a mile when she accidentally stepped on the gas instead of the brake, causing the vehicle to crash through the store's entrance.
No one in the store was injured.
The Circle K maintenance crews were forced to work through the night to repair the store so that they could open up the following day according to the Associated Press.
