A businessman is reportedly suing Uber for costing him his marriage. Thanks to a glitch in the ride-sharing app, his wife caught him allegedly cheating.

A businessman sues Uber over app glitch that cost him his marriage. The businessman, who hails from Southern France, was caught allegedly cheating on his wife who was able to monitor his whereabouts on the ride-sharing app. The French business, who has been left unnamed upon his request, has claimed that a glitch in the iOS version of the app led to the breakup of his marriage as reported by Le Figaro, a France-based newspaper.

It is unclear whether or not an affair had actually taken place. Apparently, the French business had logged into his wife's iPhone once to hail a ride. He claims that even if he had signed out of the app, the iPhone was still able to keep track of his rides.

The company is being sued by the French businessman for US$62.3 million. He is claiming that the glitch had blown his cover on his extramarital affairs and that the app actually has a privacy flaw.

The French Riviera resident's lawyer, David-André Darmon, has said that his "client was the victim of a bug in (the) application." "The bug has caused him problems in his private life," he further added.

The bug that the French business claims to have led to his divorce with his wife is actually a known flaw. The flaw has affected other customers who have taken to social networking site Twitter to ask why they were still receiving notifications on their friends' trips even if they had already logged out of the app.

Uber is an online transportation networking company. It is behind the development, marketing, and operation of the widely-used ride-sharing app which allows users to submit trip requests to authorized drivers.
