Fiat has also confirmed that two new Fiat 500 concepts will make an appearance at the show in Detroit. The first one is called the Tenebra, and the other is called the Cattiva. Both designs will join other new Fiat designs like the 2014 Fiat 500L and 2013 Fiat 500e according to the company.

Toyota is really hoping to make a splash as well at this year's NAIAS event. Toyota reportedly will have a 35,000-square-foot exhibit to show off at least 34 vehicles.

Detroit Mayor Dave Bing has said that the struggling city should benefit greatly from the upcoming auto show, and hopes the event serves as an inspiration to local citizens.

"This has been an unbelievable transformation," Bing said of the auto show and renovations at Detroit's Cobo Center, where the exhibition will be held according to USA Today. "Cobo is ready for the world, and pretty soon, Detroit is going to be, again, ready for the world."
